Woman awarded compensation for permanent arm injury

A production worker, who was operating a defective drill without being informed of the fault, has been awarded £220,000 in compensation after the drill caused her injuries

The accident at work occurred when the defective drill, which she was using, kicked back hitting her right arm causing it to break.

A fracture which was left undiagnosed meant the worker had to undergo surgery a year later and have screws inserted into her arm.

During the operation the worker developed compartment syndrome, requiring and emergency decompression operation and has now been left with permanent lack of movement.
