Bond Pearce rises to the Commando challenge

FOUR thousand turned out for the annual Royal Marines Commando Challenge at Woodbury Common including 20 brave members of Bond Pearce.

They came in their droves to raise money for the Gemini Radio Charitable Trust chosen charity, Hospiscare. Teams of 3 or more die-hards from all over the UK entered the 3 or 7 mile Royal Marine Challenge.

The two days of challenges commenced on Saturday 14 October 2006, and saw participants from all walks of life - both civilian and marine - complete the gruelling three-mile obstacle course complete with tunnels, short cross country sprints, lots and lots of mud and water.

The Bond Pearce team "Premium Bonds" came in a very respectable 38th position out the 314 teams competing collecting over £1023.50 in sponsorship monies the 3rd largest amount of sponsorship raised on the day. Everyone who completed the course was tired, battered, bruised and very muddy, but all agreed it was really good fun for a great cause.
