Widow's future secured by compensation pay out
George worked for a Welsh Borough Council. He was employed from 1953 to 1991.
He was required to work on a number of different building projects, including fire stations, schools, homes for the aged, clinics and social housing. He was required to use products which were comprised of asbestos at work, in particular asbestolux. He was also present during the spraying of asbestos by asbestos contractor no extraction or ventilation was used or provided and George was not given any respiratory protection.
The symptoms began shortly before Christmas 2004 and George suffered from increasing breathlessness and was given a mesothelioma diagnosis. His life expectancy was reduced by 4 years as a result of the mesothelioma. The claim was made by his widow as she was a dependent on him.
