Welsh Water Board and Council awarded compensation

A Welsh water board and subsequesnt council worker was deafened after exposure to an excessively noisy environment.

Geoff had worked at a Welsh Water Board and then a Welsh Borough Council and during his employment was exposed to dangerously high noise levels and was never provided with any form of hearing protection.

As with many industrial deafness cases, Geoff realised that he had a problem when he could no longer hear the TV without turning it up really loud and had problems taking part in normal conversations. He also had to bear the cost of hearing aids in both ears.

The noise induced hearing loss team investigated his claim and were able to secure him £12000 in compensation.
