Young girl awarded compensation after violent criminal attack

A young has been awarded in excess of £4000 by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board after she instructed criminal injury lawyers to put forward her case.

Laura had been the victim of violence at the hand of her step father. She was left with a severe broken leg, scarring and horrendous bruising.

Her step father pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and Laura was awarded £360 in compensation by the Court.

The severity of her broken leg meant she had to undergo a major operation to replace parts of the broken bone using metal pins, plates and artificial bone.

Laura remains unable to walk properly and has been left feeling incredibly self conscious about the appearance of her scars.

Laura approached the specialist criminal injuries team at Bond Pearce to help her bring a claim to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).

The team were able to help Laura and the CICA awarded her in excess of £4000.
