Widow seeks compensation for asbestos tragedy
A widow, who lost her husband to asbestos, sought compensation for its part in his death.
Marion's husband worked over 40 years as a shipwright for the Ministry of Defence. His job took him to dockyards all over the world.
As with all dockyard employees during this time he would have been exposed to a great deal of asbestos dust.
Sadly, shortly after his retirement John died. His cause of death was found to be from ischmatic heart disease but asbestos was a contributory factor.
Marion contacted the industrial disease team who investigated John's case. The team gained an early admission of liability and were able to settle the claim quickly securing her compensation for her loss.
