Boiler maker suffers tinnitus due to excessive noise

Leonard worked at a dockyard as a boiler maker from 1967 until 1974. He worked with air tools including drills and caulkers both of which were extremely loud and used to echo around the aircraft carriers in which he worked. He was never provided with or asked to wear any form of ear protection. After work he would quite often be left with ringing in his ears.

Leonard noticed that he was going deaf but just thought that this was due to his age. It wasn't until several years later that he discovered that it was due to his exposure to loud noise at the dockyard

Bond Pearce secured Leonard £4500 worth of compensation.
