Steel Worker Compensated for Inadequate Hearing Protection

Frank worked in the noisy environment of a British Steel production line for some 26 years.

Contrary to his wife's belief, Frank was unable to hear her properly. He also had to have the volume of the TV/radio etc up very high. Some people believed that Frank had lost his sociability as he was very quiet at gatherings when he had never been before.

The truth of the matter was the hearing protection given was inadequate for the job and Frank had suffered significant noise induced hearing loss.

We investigated for Frank and eventually, responsibility was admitted and an agreement reached to award Frank over £4,000. This has allowed Frank to purchase some state of the art hearing aids and harmony and friendship are restored.
