Andy WalkerLegal Executive

desk"If someone has an accident at work no matter how minor it might seem they should make sure they report it" says Andy Walker who recently assisted on a case where this issue was key. According to his employers there was nothing wrong with the equipment George was working on. And they denied that the accident ever happened because George didn't report it. But due to the diligence of George's legal team we were able to turn the case around and secure compensation for George.

"George was coming up for retirement having spent most of this working life at a tyre manufacturing company" recalls Andy. "Latterly he was responsible for lifting large 4x4 tyres from a conveyor belt and putting them on a rack behind. But the conveyor belt was too high and the speed of the tyres too fast for George to be able to safely carry out his work. As a result he injured his back."

"We were able to show that the equipment was not safe and that it should have been fitted with a brake so as to control the speed of the tyres enabling safe lifting and moving. We also constructed a paper trail which showed George had indeed got his back injury at work and not at home as the defendants alleged."

hobbyAndy has worked in personal injury at Bond Pearce for three years during this time his cases have included accidents at work, in public places and on the road.

A keen golfer, he enjoys the air on Dartmoor either hiking, climbing or mountain biking where he has helped raise money for the Anthony Nolan trust riding 32 and 53 miles. He also admits to being a Devon based supporter of Manchester United since he bought his first Pannini Sticker album in 1985.
