"Service personnel often work in unusual or dangerous circumstances. They should benefit the same legal protection that a civilian is given but sadly this is not always the case" says Steve Donaghue, Solicitor and ex serviceman.
Steve's understanding of the MoD and the working environment has been vital in his successfully acting for service personnel and their families both in the UK and overseas for many years. Like Brian whose promising service career was brought to an abrupt halt following a serious back injury whilst attending a training course and Stuart a MoD civilian store man who fell injuring his arm and hand due to unsafe working environment.
And Steve has fought for those who have suffered injustice like Simon, a RAF helicopter pilot whose indirect involvement in a fatal air crash resulted in a severe psychiatric condition and many years of internal inquiries. Late in the day his name was cleared, but not before he tragically died.
Steve's cases for armed forces personnel cover the full spectrum from criminal assaults, road traffic accidents, training accidents or accidents on military exercise, through to accidents arising in the normal course of day to day
service duties.
Steve has the benefit of 12 years service experience, gained as a Mechanical Transport Technician in the Royal Air Force and served at numerous units throughout the UK, including Army and Navy bases. He also served overseas, with a 4 month tour of the Falkland Islands within months of the cessation of hostilities and more recently active service throughout the whole of the first Gulf War, during which he was based in Saudi Arabia.
Steve is a DIY and hi-fi enthusiast who enjoys listening to rock and blues.
