Injured Passengers

Many injured passengers fail to claim compensation usually because the driver is a family member or friend. As an innocent party they are of course entitled to compensation.

Many people feel embarrassed about bringing a case in these circumstances, particularly where the driver is their partner, spouse, family member or friend. In these circumstances, it is important to bear in mind the following:

If the driver was not at fault, your claim will be against the other party responsible.

If you think you may have a case for compensation contact us and seek specialist advice from one of our road traffic accident lawyers. You can either fill out our online enquiry form, request a call back or call us direct on 0800 915 4650.

If your driver was partly or wholly at fault:

  • your compensation will be paid by your driver's insurers not the driver personally
  • your driver will probably feel a lot happier if you recover some compensation if he or she is at fault
  • the driver's no claims bonus will be unaffected because in most cases the other driver will present a claim anyway

If you did not contribute to the accident in any way:

  • your claim is usually paid promptly by the responsible party's insurers
  • such claims are rarely ever defended and so the litigation risk is minimal
  • with Bond Pearce you will recover all your compensation without any deduction for costs or hidden expenses

Bond Pearce have a wide experience of handling passenger claims, these include claims where our clients have been injured in taxis, buses, trains as well as pillion passenger motorcycle claims.

Remember the driver of your vehicle owes you a duty of care to ensure that you are reasonably safe and the same principle applies to other drivers and road users. If this duty is breached and you are injured then you are entitled to seek compensation.
